October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer awareness is an issue we raise with for patients on a regular basis. Breast cancer is one of the most common and well known cancers diagnosed in the United States.

The power of pink is everywhere this October as we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The yearly event is more than just a way to raise funds for breast cancer research. It helps to increase awareness for the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women. Every year in the United States, about 250,000 women and men are diagnosed with breast cancer.

Breast Health and Early Detection

Early detection can be in diagnosing and treating breast cancer. Sometimes there are no symptoms, or by the time symptoms appear, cancer may have begun to spread.

No matter what kind of industry your organization is in, there is always something we can do to promote awareness of breast cancer. Openly showing your support for breast cancer awareness can change the lives of many women and even men to encourage them to get screened earlier. 

Sponsor a Fundraiser

There are a few ways to promote a fundraiser. One way is through sponsoring   a bike-a- thon and handing out water bottles. Let people know when and where the fundraiser will take place. Inform your community about the items that you’re selling. Just watch how fast they go. Have prizes for the one who comes in first through fourth place. There a many useful prizes that will not break the bank, like bookmarks, notepads, stress balls, fidget toys and teddy bears.  The ideas are endless. You can basically give anything away with the pink cancer logo and your company included in imprinting for your event.
