How To Successfully Market A Cause

Imagine streets full of pink. Thousands of survivors, fighters and supporters flooded New York streets this past Sunday. They were there for the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure.

In the public service announcement shown below you can see in the faces of the women involved that they are proud to wear pink. They have bright t-shirts on that not only display a message of hope but every time they wear it they will be reminded of the race and so will the people who see them wearing it. This is a great example of successful cause marketing and the “power of pink”.

The best way to fight Cancer is through education and early detection. In honor of this, October has become National breast cancer Awareness Month. A month dedicated to promoting education about the disease, providing free testing, raising money for research and gaining support for a cause that has affected so many.

How To Reboot and Get Back to Business

As the summer is coming to an end I can’t help but feel a sense of rejuvenation. It’s Back to School season which, for me, feels like a new start. Similar to how a New Year feels. During the summer, for some of us, business slows down and all anyone ever wants to do is relax and enjoy the sun. But now as we approach the end of August things start to change. It’s time to get back to business and so like me you probably need a reboot. Now is the best time to evaluate and plan how you are going to handle the rest of the year and make the most out of it. So, in today’s post I have put together 8 ideas on how to reboot and get back to business.

Koozies: So Much More Than Just Can Holders

koozie-pocket

Do you know what a koozie is? Well I didn’t either until I started selling them at Garrett Specialties. They are one of the hottest promotional items. A koozie is made of foam like material such as neoprene and is a beverage insulator. They are known to be inexpensive and can be personalized with your brand name. Can koozies are available in a large variety of colors. Invented in Australia by Alex Lang where they are called stubby holders, these popular beverage accessories have now taken off in the United States.

Since the original, the can koozie has evolved. There are collapsible can coolers, zip up bottle koozies and even energy drink can holders. It has also taken on a few names such as can coolers, coolies, cozy, beer cooler, beer jackets and huggies. It’s available in many sizes; find one to hold beer, water bottles, wine or soda cans. David Ferman - Balancing a Burning Molotov Cocktail

Did you see when David Ferman did his juggling and balancing of a burning molotov cocktail act on America’s Got Talent? Amazing. He’s a smart kid. He realized that in order to impress the judges and the audience that he needed to do something extraordinary. With a little creativity and organization we are all capable of being more productive, successful and profitable. Like Ferman, we have to be consistent, apply practice as well as step out of our comfort zone.

Here is the clip of David Ferman in action. This is how I feel when I’m trying to “juggle” my company. As a business owner there is a lot of pressure to get things done all while, managing, taking risks and captivating an audience.

While I like to watch TV, I don’t normally have much time to watch TV and I don’t have time to watch TV because I’m too busy juggling multitude of tasks for my business and daily life. So I sat down to write this post and come up with ways to maximize productivity for business. Some of these ideas can also be applied to our daily lives.

Business Productivity is an organization’s ability to use all recourses available to them in an effort to produce an environment where goods or services needed by customers and clients can be profitable. Are there things that could be changed within our businesses would make them more productive? There is often a lot of wasted time, redundancy and lack of focus in business. Ever put off a project that you knew would benefit your business because you “didn’t have the time”? Yet we find time for everything else that needs to be done and more. Continue reading

Become one of the Flying Wallendas for Your Business

Once again Nik Wallenda has captured the attention of the world with another death defying stunt. At only 34 years old, this daredevil completed a tightrope walk over the Little Colorado River Gorge (Grand Canyon), 1500 feet in the air with no net or harness, on a steel cable that was only 2 inches thick. As I was reading the article about the stunt, I realized that we can relate to our businesses. Continue reading

Marketing Lessons Learned from the “Man of Steel”

Superman

He’s back! Superman has returned again in the new film “Man of Steel”. It can’t be easy for Warner Bros. to revamp the Superman brand every couple of years and yet they successfully have. “Man of Steel” is second only to “Iron Man 3” in first weekend box office revenue. So how do they do it? How can a business continue to profit using the same product? Warner Bros. spent a lot of time and money on making the new Superman movie a success so I decided to take a closer look and see how the promotion and reinvention of Superman could be used as marketing lessons learned from the “Man of Steel”. Evian Dancing Babies | Benefits of Drinking Water

Bike Sports Bottle

Evian Dancing Baby – Bike Sports Bottle

I had the pleasure of having my sister visit me for the weekend. We didn’t do anything extraordinary, we went to the market, took the dog for a long walk along the path and watched a couple of movies. It was a beautiful relaxing weekend.

I noticed that everywhere we went she had a large bottle of water with her. It made me think of the Evian commercial I saw recently. We joked about the dancing babies all weekend. Read more and watch the video at the end of this post. Anyway, she normally hates to drink water so I gave her one of my promotional water bottles. She really appreciated it plus it was a good way for me to increase my brand visibility. Everywhere she goes like the gym, park, and pool she will be showing off my logo on her sports bottle. Then she can brag about my business to her friends. 😉
